SECONDARY LESSONS AND STUDENT WORK

2-POINT PERSPECTIVE THEMED CITYSCAPE LESSON

ILLUSTRATING TIME WITH WATERCOLORS
This lesson introduces 2-point perspective to students. Through some mini exercises, brainstorming, and drafting, students will create an imagined cityscape of their choice. While this is a challenging concept, it is the key to drawing realistically and is also one of my favorite projects at this level. I love to see how each student grows and develops a complex and creative idea in this process!
Not every lessons main focus is an element or principle of design. This lesson teaches students various watercolor techniques and how to create a successful watercolor painting. Students will use at least three watercolor techniques to illustrate an object of their choice in three stages changing over time.
